Credit Risk Manager
Social lending is a nascent field though capable of supporting billions of dollars in lending within a few years. Like PayPal revolutionized the payment services industry, social lending is likely to capture a sizable chunk of the $2.3 trillion consumer credit industry. Lending Club is one of three companies having launched a person-to-person lending marketplace in the US, and the only one made available to social networks, online communities and associations. Lending Club believes that social lending is more likely to gain adoption faster in an environment where people feel connected to each other.
Scope and Responsibilities:
Manage all facets of consumer credit risk including:
- Reviewing consumer loan applications to determine creditworthiness through analyzing consumer credit reports and related proprietary metrics
- Manage customer interactions as they relate to income/employment verification, identity authentication, and returned/late payments
- Monitoring collections performance, developing and implementing enhancements, develop MIS, and provide leadership in enhancing the collections process
- Recommending changes to credit policy to efficiently manage platform performance
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following professional qualifications:
- BA/BS in Business, Economics, or other quantitative fields
- 2+ years of demonstrated credit skills and experience including verification of consumer submitted documentation
- Successfully passed credit training program from major regional or money center banks
- Strong analytical skills
- Customer Service skills
- Detailed Oriented
- Independent thinker who can take initiative but also be a team player

Java Developer (multiple openings)
Are you fed up with the fact that banks charge at least 12% to lend money but only pay 4% in interest on savings accounts? We are, too, and we're doing something about it! The business team is razor sharp and just needs some more technical talent to realize their vision…that's where YOU come in!
Minimum Requirements:
- Very strong design and development skills in Java and J2EE technologies
- 2+ years experience building large Internet applications, social networks and/or web portals
- Enjoy taking the initiative to solve complex problems while working in a team
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume/fast pace work environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Highly motivated to make a contribution with a strong commitment to quality
- Must be hands-on
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of the banking or credit industry
- MS or Computer Science graduate with specialization in Math/Statistics/Artificial Intelligence, Financial Modeling, Information Retrieval or Data Mining

Member Support Representative
We are looking for a person with a passion and commitment to service excellence to be part of this startup. Our fast-paced, dynamic team environment involves both outbound and inbound customer contact. Ranging from phone to email, the CSR will respond to questions about our programs, assist clients in navigating our website, and initiate calls to research payment issues. Our representatives are the first point of contact with current and future customers and play a key role in our business. Depending on the candidate's previous experience and abilities, this position could lead to a management role.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of customer service experience
- Enjoys communicating with customers, has excellent customer relationship skills
- Strong written, verbal and electronic (telephone and email) communication skills
- Ability to navigate the Web; proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- A professional, helpful, and friendly attitude coupled with the ability to listen, teach, and elicit information efficiently
- Strong problem solver with an interest in resolving customer issues
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Willingness to make a difference and be creative
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of financial or loan products
- Experience in a call center or in financial services are a plus
- Experience coordinating with an outsourced call center
